Hi, I’m John King of Kindling King Art. Growing up in a big farmhouse heated by wood, my earliest memories are of cutting, hauling, and stacking wood with my family. I’ve been drawn to woodworking at various stages in my life, whether it’s hand-making cedar shakes, building a log cabin, or stacking a holz hausen. Woodworking has always been a creative outlet for me.
While falling cedar trees on the property I live on at the base of Lookout Mountain, I had an inspired idea – turning cedar rounds into fire pit tables. I worked with rough tools, chainsaws, and some fine finishing tools. The result? One-of-a-kind, handcrafted, fire-fit tables.
